an interesting Intel white paper

You guys are probably already familiar with this white paper by Intel. The paper seems to show gamers some love, if only in the form of the yet-to-be-released Larrabee processor. I was thinking of Sow_BoB when I read it. Yet another different socket, even form the i7 series, but maybe worth the wait. See what you think: http://download.intel.com/technology...abee_paper.pdf

ps the Larrabee processor is an i5 versus the now more familiar i7, and so requires a different socket, and it does not use tri-channel memory, but it may be closer to what is needed to get good results from BoB, and at a lower cost too.

I see this as Intel's answer to the nVidia+Physx / AMD+Havok partnerships.

Should be interesting.

I hope it will be a more desirable answer for sim producers. Why have to choose to support one engine or another? I really hope this will be the silver bullet for Sow_BoB. Even at that, I'll be happier when I read a review of Larrabee running Crysis at 3.6ghz or so. Then I'll feel better about it's chances. No doubt SOW will not go down without a fight! :D
