Issues with patch and issues with starting
 

I can't start the game even when I use the unpatched vanilla version. It starts up for a second and then closes. It worked originally but now it wont. I have all the latest drivers for everything and I've uninstalled the game several times to try and fix it. I've even restored to a point when it worked and still can't get it to work.

Also, the latest patch does not work. When it is installed, SecuROM accuses me of not using the original disc when it is the exact one I installed the game with. It is nice to know that I get punished for buying the legal version while the pirates get a version without these silly problems.

Something to try if you did what I did.
 

I accidentally grabbed the 1.7 patch for the multilingual install which prevented my English (Atari) version from launching and brought up the same Securom error that you're getting.

If you haven't tried the 1.6.5 English only (Atari) patch, grab that and see if it fixes the problem. That patch seems to work for me.
