What happens when you actuate an item?
 

On some items when I click them a little side thing on the ship opens up that is labeled "actuate". What happens when you put the item in that slot? I had a treasure map that I put there - did I goof ?

I don't know anything about this thing yet...how far into a game are you?

Not very far - maybe 2 years into the game. I found a treasure map on a planet.

Have you found that the Probes double in expense each time you buy one? And did you find Probes are providing decent goodies?

I think this is a translation error; it probably should be 'activate.' This feature is new to Reboot so I'm not familiar with it, but I take it to mean you've got to get a probe, go to the correct planet, and then activate the map. I will try it soon.

EDIT: actually, you can activate it straight away and it will tell you what's on the treasure planet. I think you still need a probe.
