Star Wolves 2 questions

I have some questions regarding Star Wolves 2.

1) In Star Wolves 1 you could un-pause the game by pressing the space bar. However, it seems to be different in Star Wolves 2. In SW2 you need to press "]" or "[". Is there a way to adjust the control configuration so that I can un-pause the game using the space bar?

2) Does the GamersGate version include the patch?

The manual says there is a way to change the difficulty level, but I can't find the option. How do I do it?
