what resolution do you use for spotting distant bogeys?

I have a nice 27 inch 2560x1440 PLS monitor, but at that resolution I can't see the distant bogeys my online squad members call out. The bogeys have to be nearly as big as barn door for me to spot them. Will I be forced to run at a lower resolution? Or simply follow the rest blindly into combat?
