Combat experience gain rate
Combat experience comes in at different rates and in different amounts. Sometimes my units get 5 or 6 exp and other times they might get 15 or 18 exp. All attacks and invoked abilities seem to grant it; just moving and/or defending does not. Has anyone figured out the pattern or looked in the code? I haven't tried to do that yet, but before I do I thought I'd ask.
Anyway, I've also noticed a few abilities that don't give any experience at all. I'm considering these bugs and hope they get fixed. The first two I've found are really annoying because they are actions I use all the time.
Let me know if you see any other abilities failing to give exp so we can get attention for mods or patches. PS - Ranking up your combat xp has some randomness to it. I've managed to get different boosts if I reload and fight differently. I think you also get your abilities refreshed if you rank up during combat, not 100% sure so I'll watch for it to happen again. *I now think you do get the rune, though it's hard to tell if you already have a full set (it still shows Vikings carrying 1/1/1). My gorgon got the perk and definitely has 2 random runes instead of one. |
If you get rank up, you definitely get your health restored AND regain your abilities, I noticed that with my pally, I gave second wind, he powered up and I was able give the same action again
BTW I saw you on the Endor forums, we are suckers for turn-based combat aren’t we, lol |
Yes we are. :D
And yes, thanks for confirming, I've seen my units get all HP and abilities back for ramping up. Since I've posted I've seen that 1% resistance is another benefit that does not update properly in the display, same as +1 runes. Both of them still happen, though. You can see the resistance gain in your defense statistic screen. Runes are harder to detect if you already have a full set, but if you don't the new rune gain is obvious. |
