Spells that affect entire party?
 

From previous experience with the HoMM games, and actually from fighting other leaders, it should be possible to have spells affect the entire army, rather than a single unit (group of units), right? How does this come to pass? Upgrade to level 3? E.g. instead of casting bless on one unit, casting bless would affect the entire army?

Aye, it is third level spell, so it will take some crystals and runes to get there, but there are mass spells.

Note that not all spells give you mass casting when they hit level 3. I know Dragon killer does, but not sure which spells will have this. I'd suggest saving before you buy up to lvl 3 on a spell to check if it does if that's important to you.

if you hover over the upgrade button you get all the info of the new lvl spell before you actually have to spend anything, it also notes the word "mass" when the spell gets this bonus.
You can also hold shift and or ctrl and click to lower a spell's level before casting.

Haste lvl 3 is mass. Slow lvl 3 isn't unfortunately.

I tested a bit, saved first then started upgrading (and hovering :P):

Mass spells (those I have in my spellbook, there's probably more):

Distortion:

* Precision
* Haste
* Magic Shackles

Order:

* Battle Cry
* Bless
* Dragon Slayer

Chaos:

none I have...
