which multi-core optimisization is better for SOW?
OK, I did the search, and of course I found that SoW will support dual and quad core processors. It may, therefore, seem odd to ask, but will SoW make better use (optimization) of a quad core processor than a dual core processor? I would guess that a quad core at 3ghz might be better suited for SoW than a dual core @3ghz, but if I don't ask I won't know for certain. Best to let someone in the know to go on record stating the factual.

but let's not wander off topic. ;) |
It would depend on how it was coded. I wouldn't be surprised if Oleg made the game with more that 4 threads to take advantage of future CPU's with more than four cores.

me neither

Well maybe we'll be able to turn some of that stuff off. Hmmm. Here's a thought. Don't add stuff until the technology catches up to render smooth frame rates. That may be harder said than done though. Flyby out |
Hmmm,The age old ?Hardware vs product, the delicate balance.

Oleg has said he hopes to release the technical requirements for the game in May of 2009. I would suggest waiting till then before you buy. If you can't wait, then put a question in the 'Oleg Maddox Room' thread, or guess. |
