Game Resolution

Is there a way to change the game resolution? I have a 1920x1080p HD monitor and a compliant video card but IL2 max's out at 1180x960 for some reason. So how does one increase the game resolution??

Sorry. I'm thinking in terms of an edit somewhere in the 4.10-4.11 updates or with in the original config dialogue???

Thanks for the reply. The text route is much better an option than the add-on. Tried the add-on but it completely borked my game. Reinstalling IL2 1946 now. Possible disconnect between IL2 up dates since 4.08m and intro of Win8.

I did like some of the options offered by that add-on. Be something to get carried permanently into the franchise by Team Daidalos

Actually i would wait for new patch, which should be released these days, since this patch finally introduces official support for widescreen and HD resolutions.

No worries. Once you are taken by the hand to the config.ini file the hard work is done. I don't know how I could have missed it.... repeatedly. There is some other good advice on the net on the way to change certain values to improve visuals, etc.

Having read the 4.12 readme from Team Daidalos I'm excited by the options to come. These guys do remarkable work to keep this old game in the air. Another thing coming is the joint venture by 1C and 777Studios IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad.
