How to: Edit difficulty setting values
Use Winzip (or Winrar) to open the gamelogic.PAK file.
You will see folders listed. While working inside the PAK file: 1. Open the Set\difficulty folder. 2. Open the hard.dl file in notepad. 3. Edit the values for "enemy" as you desire. I went with {health 0.75} {burst 0.75} {accuracy 0.70} {firing_timeout 0.9} {grenade_timeout 1.5} making it harder than normal but easier than the default "hard". Click file-save. When Winzip asks you if you want to update the file with the new information tell it YES/OK. I found the edited hard setting more challenging than normal but not near impossible/frustrating. |
Just remember that most scripts/missions also have their own settings or other elements based on difficulty.

so this wont work for the campaign? as I too find hard a bit too frustrating (enemy tanks) and normal bit easy.
cheers |
Some stuff will work in skirmishes, the main stuff related to accuracy and other stuff of ai how good their vision is, but when it comes to money or some otheer things script often controls that, in game skirmishes player health base is determined by script.

Some aspects remain harder than normal but the slight lowering of the values like I described made it playable - yet more challenging than normal diff. |

sorry its normal I struggle with and easy find too easy.. what can I do?
|
what exactly does the above value changes, anything that tones down enemy reinforcements? i lost a whole map on normal level.. and had a mg to fend off a whole division lol.. this game on normal is hard.
