chat connection failed.
I have seen multiple threads about the same problem on multiple forums.
When I log in to gamespy it takes me to the multiplayer lobby, where I can see multiple games up, but an error message says "chat connection failed" and it takes me back to the main menu. I have forwarded all relevant ports, including 6667, tried allowing men of war and gamespy arcade through my firewall, tried disabling my firewall and MSE, my only antivirus isn't blocking anything to do with it. I have no idea what else to do. I am talking about the original Men of War, which I bought from steam. Please, if anyone know anything else I can do I would appreciate it greatly. |
Make sure you have all the ports open/forwarded:
TCP 80 6667 28910 29900 29920 UDP 3210 27900 Further, if you are using routers/wifi try a most direct connection to see if any of them are actually the problem. |

I will try your other suggestion tomorrow, thank you. Also, I bought Assault Squad today and it does the exact same thing. This is really starting to piss me off. |
Some routers or modem router combos etc have issues even when dmz to 1 ip. As I said to narrow down whats causing this you have to run most direct connection possible and determine. Also it wouldnt hurt to get mirc installed and just try connecting to irc.gamespy.com dont try joining any channels but just to see if maybe for some reason ur subnet or ip is somehow banned? I doubt it but its just weird situation that you encountering.

I will get back to you once I direct connect to a friend in a couple hours. Well I put in my friends IP under multiplayer options and connected to his game without the aid of a VPN, him hosting in LAN. Is this what you wanted me to do? If not I'm not sure how to connect. Any other ideas? |
