Telescopic Bomb sight on Ju88 not working?

I'm currently updating all my campaigns in COD and am currently working on my III.KG1 Ju88 Campaign.
When I go to use the telescopic bomb sight after going to the bomb aimer position then pressing SHIFT F1 (Controls/view/Lean to Gunsight) I get a 'black screen' and my computer 'crashes'??!!
The command SHIFT F1 works ok in the fighter cockpits - to move you closer to your gunsight.
I think there is some major glich here. I would be grateful to hear if anybody else has experienced the same problem and whether there is a fix for it?

I have the same. Before New Year's Eve I asked Ubisoft support and I am still waiting for the answer. I'll keep you informed.

Test a Ju-88 in Quick Mission and same thing happened.
I briefly see the gunsight reticule and game froze...

I got the answer From Ubi support. They say to try at first to deselect the epilepsy box in game video configuration, if still not working to reduce the video resolution. Last chance, they say to uninstall game, Steam, Uplay and antivirus and reinstall game, Steam and Uplay. Once working right, to reinstall antivirus. Tonight I'll try with video configurations, but I have to think about it before uninstalling everything. After all, I think that He111 is better than Ju88 as level bomber :)

Sinced I already have "Epilepsy" filter disable, I try disable V-Sync and so JU-88 bombsight reticule work fine. :)

But, if I fly Blenheim, I need V-Sync ON, or propeller disc efect show artefacts...

Well, this is the old (and good) CloD. ;)

I tried, but sometimes works, sometimes freezes. What are your other main video settings? In this way I don't take the risk of a 1 hour mission....

Still not working?

Thanks for your input Sokol1. I have tryed all your suggestions and still not working? I recently had my internet provider 'pull the plug on my internet service'. I had picked up a spamming virus attached to an email. When I had my internet restored all my settings in COD had changed and many things were not working properly!?! Before I was cut-off COD was working perfectly?
I am very suspicious of 'Steam' - having to 'sync' your files with their files etc. etc. I noticed Studio 777/IC won't be dealing with Steam in their rebirth of IL2.
I am going to put this problem to Steam and they can take it up with IC to solve.
I am not going to reinstall the game through Steam and the anti-virus - to much hassle!
Hope we can solve the problem marcastel57, keep watching this post.

PS I would be interested if anybody else is having the same problem.

Marcastel57,

You are right, I did more tests (Quick Mission) and sometimes game freeze.
What I notice is:

If I am in direct front view POV (ie Numpad 5) the reticule work fine, I can go IN and OUT to gunsight view many times without problem.

But if I have POV moved for any angle - by HAT or keypad - the game freeze.

Ie, HAT down and after Shift+F1 (I use Space+Joy button1) do tosee gunsigh freeze, or hit keypad 9 (POV 45 degree up), or any POV differente of "front view", and after hit "Shift+F1", freeze.

Try: When move to bombardier position, dont touch in POV controls (HAT ou keys) and go to gunsight view (Shift+F1 or what you mapped).

Yes, it seems to work this way. But when you are in the bombardier position, you must NEVER change visual from the straight one. If you do it, you have to shift to other positions before returning to bombardier and go to the bombsight again. So, with a little attention we can use Ju-88, an excellent airplane, for level bombing too. Thanks for your help!

Using the "Swiss pocket knife" JoyToKey, I configure one joy button to look in bombsight and manage to avoid this JU-88 bug, even if POV is not straight forward:

When press joystick button 5, JoyToKey send "Keypad5 (FOV forward) 2x, Shift, F1".

So I can pan around cockpit and look into bombsight without freeze.
