Thought I'd start an official page of links to tools that might help when skinning.

What do I do with the files?
I have never used files with these extensions (cdr, ai). They won't open in Photoshop Elements.

They won't open with Paintshop Pro either..

Corel Draw is needed, but the .WMF files should be able to be viewed.
It's unfortunate that they're not made for Photoshop, or Paintshop Pro, but the images can be stripped with a little bit of effort, if needed.

.cdr is indeed a CorelDraw file. However, the .ai file extension belongs, I believe, to Adobe Illustrator which is also a vector graphics program.

Or possibly try Inkscape an open source vector graphics editor which is supposed to be able to import both .cdr and .ai.

Renaming the .avi files to .pdf as suggested in your link doesn't work. Unfortunately.

It was the obvious place to look, but nevertheless one of the last places checked when I looked for national aircraft insignia.

Be careful, the colours are wrong and some of the insignia are incorrect or flawed. However thay are very large files (2000 pixels the largest size) and therefore great to work with and easy to copy or change.

The older insignia are in their own section underneath the modern/present ones.
