Key Assignment for Cockpit
 

I forgot how I did this before. I have my MS FF2 stick with fly by and external views assigned to a couple of buttons, but after using those in the game, I am having difficulty getting back into the cockpit. There is an "inside view" I have assinged to another button on the stick, but it doesn't seem to work after being in an external or fly by view. I can't remember what I am doing incorrectly. Ideas? Thanks.

Oprions > Controls > View look for "Inside View" default key is F1.

Notice: If you desire use a joy button to control this view dont change then from F1.
Select "Inside view" line and click in "New" (lower left side) and configure joy button here.

So you have:

Inside view = F1
Inside view = Joystick+KeyXX

You can have many keys, keys combo, joy button, joy button+key to control every funcion, just use "New" option.

I now have 2 keys assigned to inside view, F1 and the stick key, but no change. If I go to another view, I still can't get back into the cockpit. ??? Realism setting here? Other ideas? Thanks.

Fixed it. There are 2 keys to assign to external view. I switched those, and no more problem. I don't know why. I can move from an external or fly by view back to the cockpit with no trouble now.

So I do have copies of my conf.ini and confUser.ini files now. I have these backed up. If this occurs again, do I simply copy them into the steam/steamapps/common/IL2 etc. directory to keep this from happening again? Thanks.
