New Java!

If I recall correctly Java does do something for the IL-2 engine. Anyhow there is a new so go get it.

The entire IL-2 front end is written in Java, this includes the in game chat, map, radio messages etc, other portions may be written in Java too.

New Java just caused my game to crash so be careful, i went to control panel and cleared out all the java temporary files and this seems to have resolved it.

be careful with SP3 as well..
For some it works ok .. but, and this is confirmed with several guys I fly with having the same problem..
when going to XP SP3.. we end up getting a lot of crashes in IL2

The dialog box indicated its a JVM.dll problem.

rolling back to SP2 and the problem goes away.

ive tried SP3 using like 6 different versions of Java and none of them make a difference.

I had no problems installing just make sure you dont install the apalet for the Microsoft word tools.
