Have you tried Luthiers suggestion??.

Here it is: -

Note about NVidia SLI:

The patch must go through official NVidia accreditation for SLI support to be officially enabled in drivers. The patch will only go through the process once it’s officially released on steam.

If you wish to bypass this process and manually enable SLI support, please go through the following steps:

1) Download a profiler utility, for example
http://nvworld.ru/utilities/sliprofiletool/

2) Export SLI profiles to a file

3) Manually edit the file by adding the following lines

Code:
Profile "Il2: Cliffs of Dover"
ShowOn GeForce
ProfileType Application
Executable " il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/Launcher.exe"
Setting ID_0x00a06946 = 0x000240f5
Setting ID_0x1033cec1 = 0x00000001
Setting ID_0x1033cec2 = 0x00000002
Setting ID_0x1033dcd2 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x1033dcd3 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x1095def8 = 0x00000004
EndProfile4) Re-import the file

5) Fly!

I have this working and find it better than my old profile.
If you have trouble getting the code into the Nvidia inspector I will try and talk you through it. You will need Nvidia Inspector to do the job, this is a free download.

You can get it here: -

A Russian download page?

It would be nice if Luthier had provided a direct download link that we can trust, rather than another of those dodgy looking sites...

RickRuski 11-10-2012 01:53 AM

You don't need that site profiler utility, Nvidia inspector does the same thing.

katdogfizzow 11-10-2012 02:41 AM

that gobbledegook wont import with my driver through any utility

import denied

I wonder what named settings those numbered setting ids refer to

RickRuski 11-10-2012 03:26 AM

If you have Nvidia Inspector here's what to do: -

Open inspector, select _GLOBAL_DRIVER_PROFILE

Then come along on the same line to where you see 2 green arrows (one pointing up, one pointing down) left click on the one that gives you export driver profiles (should be the left one). There you will have 3 choices, select "Export all profiles"(Nvidia text format). This will bring up a new window asking what the file name is? copy and paste _GLOBAL_DRIVER_PROFILE into the file name request box, you will have to direct the save to your new folder. See below: -

You will need to make a new folder to export the files to (I have made mine in "Documents/Sli profiles")

Once you have the files exported you will be able to open them in txt format in your new folder, all the games that are listed under the global settings are in there in alphabetical order.
Scroll down to just past Il2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles etc, then copy and paste this entry below that point.

Profile "Il2: Cliffs of Dover"
ShowOn GeForce
ProfileType Application
Executable "il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover/launcher.exe"
Setting ID_0x00a06946 = 0x000240f5
Setting ID_0x1033cec1 = 0x00000001
Setting ID_0x1033cec2 = 0x00000002
Setting ID_0x1033dcd1 = 0x00000004 UserSpecified=true
Setting ID_0x1033dcd2 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x1033dcd3 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x1074c972 = 0x00000001 UserSpecified=true
Setting ID_0x1095def8 = 0x00000004
Setting ID_0x1095def8 = 0x00000000 UserSpecified=true
Setting ID_0x10f9dc81 = 0x00000010 UserSpecified=true
EndProfile

You will then have to save the change as normal then re-import the new profile back into Nvidia Inspector as per instructions. (The other green arrow is the import in Inspector)
You should now find a new profile in "Inspector" "Il2: Cliffs of Dover".

If you have done it correctly you should get a message saying the profile has been imported successfully.

Great, I have inspector now and the profile works!

HOWEVER, I'm now getting the green smoke bug...

any fix for this?

RickRuski 11-10-2012 06:30 PM

pstyle,

Yes, I had this at one stage but don't anymore. I think it was to do with one of the settings I had, will try and remember and post back.

Edit: -

Just remembered, it came when I tried to do a custom loadout for the guns on the Hurricane. Got some strange tracers and green smoke from the damaged Ju88's the only way I had to correct it was to go to default loadout and restart the game.

Have just updated my drivers, remember to re-import the C.o.D. profile from where ever you saved the changed master profile to.

If you check the profile that was re-imported to "Inspector" you will probably find that the "Il2: Cliffs of Dover" originally imported is no longer there because it isn't part of the supported Nvidia drivers at this stage, so when the new drivers were installed the C.o.D. profile disappeared from the list. This is why you will need to re-instal it until we have official support.
