Help; learning english
 

Hi, i had a very basic english education in the past (mostly grammar) and i need to learn to speak english more or less fluently for a job. knowing that there are a lot of bilingual people here i ask your help,
can you recommend me a method to make my pronunciation better and cleaner?
what do you do to improve your pronunciation?

ps: i tried with youtube, there are a lot of good videos out there but it seems that dosnt help me much.

Join a squad, fly 1 hour a day, and talk to them, the higher the ammount of true-born speakers the better, but if there are some weird accents in the mix it will also improve your compreension skills.

you will be swearing like a true brit in 2 months, and having fun while doing it.

that did the trick for me 3 years ago.

PD: te digo mas, yo no hablava espanol de todo, y levo 2 años en uns ecuadron español y ya entiendo perfectamente español y consigo hablar mas o menos. Escrevir me va bastante mal como ves :P

watch movies in english and with english (!) subtitles!

There really isn't an easy way to learn "perfect" English as there are so many dialects/slang/short cuts used as normal now.
Speak slowly and speak out each word,too many foreigners speak English but far too quick and end up gabbling.

The el cheapo version of a language course abroad. :)
Imho the best option.

PS: Make sure it's not local squad from Mississippi or Oakland...

No hay nada que sea substituto de la práctica. Tienes que hablarlo cada vez que puedas por el mayor tiempo que puedas con tantas personas como puedas (que pronuncien bien). No importa si no hablas perfectamente, lo importante es que poco a poco vas a ver como mejora tu vocabulario y pronunciación.

Un dato importante, una vez que aprendes a pronunciar mal una palabra, te va a ser difícil corregir su pronunciación. Por esto te recomiendo que intentes desde el principio, el pronunciar las palabras como son.
Algo muy típico para nosotros los de habla hispana, es agregar una E antes de cualquier palabra que empieza con S seguida de otra consonante, como por ejemplo decir "Estatistics" en vez de "statistics" simplemente por que no estamos acostumbrados a palabras de ese tipo (y es mas fácil de decir :grin: ).

Gracias, estoy tratando de practicar cuando puedo, ahora cada ves que vuelo me meto en el ts del atag. Por suerte me están teniendo paciencia por mas que les queme la cabeza un poco :p muy buena gente.
Ademas estoy empezando a grabar las conversaciones, me esta ayudando mucho esto ultimo ya que puedo identificar mis errores mas rápido.

Ojala que me salga que sino voy a terminar de cajero en un supermercado , con todo el respeto que se merecen los que trabajan en supermercados. Saludos!
