Bullet holes are just sprites
Ok, look at these bullet holes, why are they just black sprites when the model has an interior to show through ?? Is this just a poor Sunderland model compared to the Wellington, or is it a game thing ??
Any help thanks http://i738.photobucket.com/albums/x...esNotReal1.jpg . |
EEEWWWW! You should see a doctor about that before it gets worse.

WHY ?? It's only skin deep ! :evil::evil::evil:

Pretty standard, in my opinion.
Most smaller holes wouldn't show much interior anyways, and they can save memory for deforming the model when larger holes are made. |
How odd, 7.62mm holes should be placed exactly where the bullet hits. These are decals/sprites (they have no depth). But what you're looking at seems to be regional damage, which is generally of a higher quality (bits missing, 3d damage). Seems like the sunderland just has lower quality damage in places.

Nice smooth wingroot fairing though.

Maybe paint ball gun?

This doesn't look like the "where it happens" damage from small caliber guns.
I think it's cannon damage, but the reason it's not very detailed is that it's not damaged enough. I've seen it happen with other aircraft too. If you keep on pounding on them, then the internal structure starts to show. If you just score some hits on them however, you get superficial damage from shrapnel, just like in the screenshot. The reason the Wellington is so keen to show off its entrails is that it usually burns easily :-P |
