Happy (belated!) Birthday Blade Runner!!
It's 25th June 1982 when Blade Runner hits the screens for the first time, 30 years on it's still my favourite sci-fi movie (and probably favourite movie of all times too).
I watched every possible version of, I once even watched it in black and white on an old telly and it really worked, giving it that kinda noir touch! I even have one of the much sought after blasters, the pistol that Harrison Ford uses to hunt replicants down! What an inspiring movie it was, and the videogame too was awesome!! Ah! I hope Ridley Scott won't screw up with the sequel he's working on, he will seriously have to find a good way to keep the atmosphere as 80s sci-fi as possible! |
Great film, a lot of depth to it and is ageless to boot as well!
P.S. I watched "The Grey" last night and I got the impression that it was trying to be deep and meaningful film but instead it just made me laugh. |

Definitely the one of the greatest movies of all time, changed my life after seeing it back in the eighties. The Limited Edition case set has some great pieces in it, but I would love to have one of those blasters! Please tell me they are not making a sequel...leave perfection alone!

I just finished reading "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?", by Philip K Dick. Very interesting to see where the movie came from. It would be nice to see more true sci/fi authors story's making it to film. I'm always up for a well thought out sci/fi movie. Unfortunately only the ones with monsters with horror themes seem to be most popular (must admit some of them are good to).

There is a great book on the making of Bladerunner called "Future Noir". Highly recommend it.

Metal Mickey was pretty good too....

I first got to touch a girls boob at the tender age of 13, while sitting in the back row of the local hoyts cinema watching Blade Runner in 1982...
