Been gone a year so what's new with CoD?

Hi,

Yes I bought the CoD when it was released, checked it out, waited few patches and then uninstalled it. I waited for it around 5-years and during that time played quite a lot IL2 with addons..offline and online. Somehow it I was not impressed by it. Maybe I was expecting epic battles that I had many many years ago with SWOTL and IL-2. It had quite a lot of bugs too...

Now, I might try it again this summer  Before I do, has the latest patches made it the simulator we've all been waiting for? Any mods by fans or other additional stuff that should be included so that gaming experience would increase?

I noticed that Maddox are planning for a addon to the eastern front...nice!

Hi,

Patches:
Let update Steam and then maybe install the beta-patch + Hotfix that is available here.
Other than that: We are waiting to see something this Friday like every Friday...
My personal guess: Patch this Friday, together with the anouncement of the next sequel.

Your system-specs would be useful. Maybe we can then tell you, if the game will run well.

Addons:
www.desastersoft.de has released great offline-addons, 1 of them is also available in english, the other one will be translated as well.
The quality of these add-ons are outstanding, they are even including a career-system.

For me personally the sim is well playable as long as i am not flying over londons rooftop. But there is still a hughe potential not beeing used by now.
it´s just that the complexity of the game doesn´t make it easier to develop it...

Pretty much where we were this time last year. In the grand scheme of things there has not been any real change.

No, try again.

Performance is better with less launcher crashes. Better FPS over all, FM's tweeked - to be tweeked again with the official version of the patch. No sound radar glitch. We are also waiting on a finalised version of the test patch which should make things even better.

As he stated, "in the grand scheme of things" this time last year to now hasn't seen much improvement, yea sure 'some' things have improved but we've also lost things so i wouldn't try and be too funny if i were you....just saying

Ok, thought that all those small clitches would have been already dealt with...maybe the next patch will fix those so maybe I'll install CoD in July when I have my vacation :D

Thanks for the hints, might try those since I enjoy offline games if they're well done. It would be nice to have an old fashion career system..with medals, ranks and other "stuff" or bonuses depending how you're performing in the war...those were fun in the old days...

My comp. is sufficient enough but I remember that I had some FPS issues over London with almost full details but otherwise it was ok...but some bugs really irretated me.

Intel Q6600, 4gb RAM, Geforce 460GT, fast SSD hard drive (which helps a lot with modern games).

I call 90% less CTD a VAST inprovement, especially in multiplayer. So yes in "in the grand scheme of things" there have been inprovements and no the game is not in the state it was in last year...

No laughs here... ;)
