Wings of Prey by Gaijin. Beautiful looking WW2 game, but not a Sim.

What is the difference between a "game" and "sim" ..... just saying.

A sim or simulator tries to be as realistic as possible in terms of machine performance and historical facts and usually is quite complex with a steep leaning curve.

A game, is balanced more towards game play and enjoyability. Games usually fore go the more complicated matters for instant action and simplicity.

Examples of a sim and a their game counter parts are:

IL2 - IL2 wings of Prey

Flashpoint / ARMA - Battlefield / Call of Duty

Game requires you to have fun and not really worry too much about clicking settings to make sure your engine runs, that you have the correct Magnetic Compass reading, the heading you have is correct, the distance you have to travel....it's just fly, shoot, fly, shoot and maybe land a little - WoP

Sim means you have to worry about every item above including the fun Fly and Shoot bit, ammunition running, the weather, FM, DM, bailing out, all things that Simulate real-life environments - IL2

One is Fun, the other is Fun with benefits ;)
