Hardware Update and Steam
 

Hi all.,I need to upgrade my motherboard and ram.,cpu and graphic card will remain the same. Is there anything I need to know concerning the protection system and Steam?,and new hardware?,I am sorta hoping this is going to be easy. ( activation part anyway..lol). Any tips greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Are u doing a new install of your OS?

I believe that when you run Steam for the first time with the new components you will get a popup from Steam.Something about a different computer trying to logon.They will send an activation code to your email.Enter that code and Steam will add the hardware configuration to your account. They code is very time sensitive.So check your email right away and activate as soon as you get the code.
