Has Vsync stopped working in the game options?
Just wondering if Vsync in the game options has stopped working because as soon as my FPS drop below 60FPS I get tearing on the frame when looking around the cockpit. When I am free flight in single player game I don't seem to get the tearing because my FPS is a constant 60 FPS, but other times i do. Can anyone tell me if they get this tearing? I have a Geforce 680GTX and was wondering if there is a way to turn on Vsync in the Nvidia control panel instead of the game and what exe do I point it to if you can do it? Thankyou!!

Yes, it's in the Nvidia CP, and apparantly the WRC 2010 is the correct .exe to use for this game's 3d settings.
Vsync is located very bottom. FSAA can also be enabled, which is waaayyy better looking (if you don't mind slightly fuzzy text) than the in-game AA. (I use both however, and get a very smooth, albeit with hard to read gauges, layout with practically no jaggies). |

I select 'use the 3D application setting' but try adaptive and see if it works ok for you!
Enable 'triple buffering' as well. |
I just turn it to "On" and leave it off in-game. I've heard the adaptive V-sync gives it more range when the fps drops (which means it doesn't necessarily reduce to half your refresh rate), but as quick as it happens, it doesn't make much difference on my machine. (I think split seconds of 45 fps vs 30 fps isn't much when they are occurring at micro-second intervals.)

I'm still not sure if this happens to everyone else, but when my FPS drop in some of the single player missions I am still getting tearing when I look around the cockpit using Trackir. When it's at 60 FPS it's fine, but as soon as it drops to 40 or so it starts to tear. Can someone tell me if it's just my game or does it do it to other players as well?

Is this WRC 2010 thing only applicable to GTX 6XX series cards ?
|
Mine is the 500 series - using the Nvidea Beta Driver 301.24, CloD is listed as WRC2010 in the CP.
I have now switched my Vsync setting to this drivers option 'Adaptive Half Frame rate' and capped it to 30fps. |
