Brightness / contrast & gamma ?
Where are the brightness, contrast and gamma settings in il2-CoD ?
I have slightly processed a screenshot using photoshop by decreasing the general gamma by -1.5 and adding a slight contrast to make the tone look a bit bolder, here is an example: http://i.imgur.com/uXK0m.jpg I think the original color tone and contrast in il2 cod is too flat and washed out , the whole world and terrain just looks like some pale cartoonish / watercolor artwork and i don't understand why no brightness, contrast and gamma sliders has been implemented in the graphics options menu. Now-days every game offers at minimum adjustable gamma settings, for example in Armed Assault II you can adjust those, in X-Plane 10 there is a gamma setting, in GTA IV you can adjust brightness, contrast and same for Skyrim etc.. Will be those even implemented in il-2 CoD ? if not, is there another way to adjust contrast/brightness & gamma ? thanks |
I am not sure why you want a dark, high-contrast game. What you are presenting is stylized and not realistic.
IMHO Colors and saturation in reality are very close visually to what CLOD is. Bonus points for the haze effects! |

I can create a color profile for the game in my ATI drivers control panel. It will load setings automatically when I start game. You should be able to do this in NV control panel too. |

Except for the color of a few fields and missing a little haze, the game came out with almost perfectly calibrated colors. It's been a long downhill ride since then. |

The color is there, it looks realistic and they said they would keep it that way. |
Processed is too dark for me...

since this concerns personal taste, then brightness, contrast & gamma settings MUST be implemented in il-2 CoD

MAIN * Drastically reworked graphic algorithms dealing with in-game color; It was done to increase performance. The less changes in color the better it runs....of course, the looks suffer. |
