Tips, tricks and solutions for the new beta patch

I will here try bring together solutions for the new beta patch, so people can conquer a problem and get help, if you found a good solution to a problem you had.

Describe what was the problem?

What did you do, to solve the problem.

What was the outcome?

Share your good experiences in solving problems and perhaps find some new tips that can help you solve your problem or improve your flying experience.

This is not a new thread of personal fights or yelling up about what does not work, but only solutions and advice to others. Please respect this.

Simple but some may have missed it:

Before installing, clear the cache folder to stop any problems.

Problem:

CTD

Solution:

Send crashlog and crashdump to the devs as described here http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=31835
It works, check out the link ;)

Nice initiative, if this thread generates enough traffic and useful responses it will get a sticky.

Oh believe me, it will be respected. Any posts that don't follow this posting style:

or the thread's general intention and stir trouble, will disappear into thin air.

This will be a questions and answers thread to help everyone improve their testing and gameplay experience, just like the OP intents.

The amount of FPS gained depends on individual PC components. They said from the start that those who will gain the most from the new graphics engine are the low end machines. High end PCs that were already running it easily will just keep doing so with minimal FPS differences.

Maybe you will be able to turn up a couple of settings, or just see slightly lower FPS in exchange for more consistent FPS (less fluctuation = less stutters), but overall if you have a high end PC things will not be drastically different.

I don't have a link handy, but it was clearly stated by the developers at some point before the patch release. Hope it helps clear things up a bit ;)

I believe those with higher end machines were told they'd see a minimum of 20% fps increase.

;)

Hm I dont see where this statement came from... I only heard that 4core machines will much more likely experience the 100% fps gain.
The fps gain for dual core machines will be noticeable but not to that extent.

Just a small hint, I read some guys posting about a throttle "bug".

Check your joystick throttle axis. 0% should be around 0% and 100% at nearly 100 %, otherwise you get exactly this effect (the throttle acting almost digital). Somehow the beta screwed up my throttle.

Good, it may be a different kind of CTD :)

I had some stutters and my FPS dident improve at all, so I made some change that helped me. I got those from several posts here and from Sukhoi. Thanks.

1 I unabled my SLI. Then I made some change in the config.ini.

Result is a slight improve in my fps and no stutters. I just came from ATAC, where I flew for over 2 hours without CTD.

Here what I change in the config file.

[window]
DepthBits=64.........changed
StencilBits=32.........changed
DrawIfNotFocused=0
SaveAspect=0
Render=D3D10_0
width=1920
height=1080
posLeft=0
posTop=0
ColourBits=64.........changed
FullScreen=1
ChangeScreenRes=1
Frequency=120
