Help with FSX uninstall

Hi guys, my FSX install became corrupted after my PC crashed while performing a repair install, due to black wing vortices.

Anyway, it's not a big deal as it was quite a new install. What I want to know is what to save/keep, to retain my controls and settings, and where to find the files?

Hope someone can help!

1. Pilot Records

Pilot Records contains 3 sections -
Rewards - Listing and details for all your earned rewards, (mission and sandbox).
Log Book - Your flight's aircraft type/hours/landings/etc., (its also the source data for your earned sandbox rewards).
Photographs - Folder containing your in-game screenshots taken using the 'V' key, (in .bmp format)

Reinstalling FSX or FSXA
Before doing so
first backup both your Log Book & Granted Rewards.
Relevant file locations are OS dependent.

Log Book
Filename OS Location
Logbook.BIN XP C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\My Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\
Logbook.BIN Vista C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files\

Granted Rewards
Filename OS Location
GrantedRewards.BIN XP C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX\
GrantedRewards.BIN Vista C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\

I think im going to give up on this microcrap product. Had a few good years with fs9, but i just cant be bothered with all of this hassle, just to play their buggy sim. CloD might be buggy, but at least it doesnt take a giant crap on my face when it feels like it!

Just to clarify, you didnt have to activate with a code when you installed it?

Its probably bitchin' because you already used the code for your first install.

Online activation is evil, its the first step towards the "pay every year instead of purchase" model Microsoft want to introduce for their products.
