have you,4 CoD, installed win7 over XP?
hey all
read a few times that CoD prefers win7 over XP and have decided to check it out...have downloaded a trial ver of win7 and have the new chipset, sound card and video drivers as well...is this all I need to perform this upgrade...I't will be a clean install as I'm going from xp 32 to win7 64 bit and I will be backing up some of the xp data on an external hard drive as long as I have internet connection will the install look for and find any necessary software I have'nt already found and downloaded? you might of guessed that when it comes to computers I'm not exactly a genius with these things :) Ive done abit research and this seems not overly complicated...it's hopefully just a matter of following the on screen prompts...however since I have never done an OS swap I thought I would be careful and ask for some advice...is there anything I should be wary about? thanks |
You seem to have made all the preparations you need by backing up your data and downloading new drivers.
Nothing really to add to that. I moved to Win 7 64-bit from XP last year and it all went very smoothly. Windows 7 is fairly good at installing drivers automatically, but you will have to manually add a few bits and pieces I'm sure once you have the basics in place. Good luck. |
