Found something: Interview with Oleg

Hey again

So I´ve not posted a -whole- lot, but I´ve lurked around daily.

But now I´ve stumbled about something interesting over at Rockpapershotgun, which I´d like to share (and which I hope is okay to be plugged here.)

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/?p=1421

Granted, it´s from before Pacific Fighters was released, but I think it positively shows the dedication Oleg and team put into their work. And, since I´ve also played Stalker, I´ve found that things coming from Russia can even be great if they come out a little late.

I´m willing to wait another 7 years for this game, same as I waited for Stalker. :) I´m not qualified to say anything, though, since I post so little, but there, I´ve said it anyway.

Cheers :D

Waaagh

But some people think realism is getting all the features working. Some flight sims in the past were so hard to fly that – me myself, a real pilot, and my friends, also real pilots – said that we’d never fly a real aircraft if they were anything at all like sims

It's strange, but that's exactly how I feel. Even in a commercial (passenger) jet the checklist and flight management/surveillance/check-up is waaaay easier (and with a lot more feedback) than the CEM in IL-2.
I wonder if SoW will be as full of CEM tricky things as the current IL-2.

Flight simmers are very lucky to have a guy like this at the forefront of this genre...

Yes, definitely. Everywhere I go I hear good things about Oleg.

P.S.
Another interesting game from Russia is a plague sim called "Pathologic", it can still be found second hand.

There is also a freeware space game called "Babylon Five: I've found her", which was headed by another Oleg and also tries to be very realistic.

We are all very lucky to have Oleg at the helm.
Think about all the free content that we have gotten over the years in aircraft, ground objects, maps and missions.

The IL2 series is still capable of new surprises even after all these years. So as far as BOB, I’ll second Waaagh.
I’ll wait 7 years, if Oleg feels it’s necessary to get it right.
