Good day to all the Il2 community...I have a question...what do I need to enable the swastika in the current 4.11 version of the sim?

Its disabled by default due to international banning.

User made skins are available.

More to the point, the swastika is banned in several European countries, and displaying the swastika or other symbols of Nazism is considered to be in bad taste in many other parts of the world. Unless you're flying offline, be careful.

There was an option to enable swastika emblems for Finnish and Luftwaffe planes available in previous versions of IL2, but I'm not sure it's still available.
If it's still an option, you can enable it within the conf.ini.

Other than that, in addition to custom skins, there are add ons (MAT manager, various mods) which allow swastika logos to be displayed.

You will want Mat Manager for sure and it does so much more.

In your conf.ini, under [game] you enter:

HakenAllowed=1

But I thinks it's been disabled in recent versions. I've been using MatManager for years so I'm not sure.

Thanks for the answers...about the "HakenAllowed" line... Treetop64 you're right I already tried in 4.11 and it doesn't work anymore, I will try the Mat Manager software I read some nice things about it.

On a side note... I just want to say that this simulator rocks believe it or not a long time ago(2003-2007?) I was a defender and user of M$ Combat Flight Simulator 3 and I was adamantly resistant to try il2 mainly because In that time I heard that the sim didn't permit any content created by the user...now with my first HOTAS (CH products) a more capable PC, lots of reading, testing and after seeing for myself the work of the mod teams like the SAS and Daidalos I just want to say thank you to the official and unofficial mod community for keeping this sim alive.

PD: I will try Cliffs of Dover when it gets usable for the average joe :evil::grin:
