3 things that put me off the game
the sun blinds too much
planes are too dificult to see and above all at the begining of the game both 109 and spit were close turners making true the manual maxima the machines are so close its up to the pilot, after succesive patches it turn a game of caughting by surprise being planes so different :( edit: yesterday i had like a five minute turning duel in rof me in a fokker drI and the other guy in a sopwith camel ended by a salute i miss that in il2 and clod |
Well in real life from what I have read the sopwith pilot would have thrown a brick at your head ;)
I certainly have experienced in il2:1946 after a long dogfight in which we both ran out of ammo we flew side by side before heading home. |
I agree that the sun blinds to much. I kinda wish we could make the pilot squint and partially close his 'eyes' (narrow and darken the screen?) to focus and see better in bright light.

Disagree, the suns effects are fine in the game and probably the best in any flight sim imo, you looked into the sun recently, its bloody bright. |
I agree that the sun effects are great in game, but in real life you can put your hand up and you will be able to see pretty much eveything to the side of it, I've heard of pilots using their thumb to cover the sun and if you were being bounced you would see them outside your thumb, I've put in a request to have pilot goggles on a toggle button so that you could manage the glare a little by darkening the screen like when your pilot gets injured and sees red, but again I think the sun effects are awesome

Then why do pilots have tinted goggles? And the thumb trick I read somewhere, Gregory Pappy Boyington used this trick more than once and was able to make out japanese fighters in the sun, but then again he did get shot down, I just think something can be done ~S~

Disagree, heard a plane fly over today, looked up, sun was too bright to see, put on my glasses, saw it.

Basically I think the sun glare in game is the closest to real life I've seen, but if we end up with the virtual thumb then everybody is happy. |
