Throttle Quadrants
Since CloD is so much more detailed I was thinking about getting a throttle quadrant. Who makes then these days? I know CH has one, does Saitek too I forget? Anyone else? What does everyone think of them pretty good?

I do have a Saitek quadrant, not "top of the line" as some might say, but to me best bang for the buck ratio.
Three levers, each with a button function when moved all the way to the top (to be used as an afterburner for example in a 109) and three rocker switches, i.e. six additional buttons (pitot heater on/off for example). Works absolutely perfectly for me, installation was just plug and play. Of course in game you will have to map all the functions/axes you want manually. |
Go to CH throttle quadrant, around 100 U$, 6 axis, 6 two way switchs.
Saitek throttle quadrant (around 60 U$) 3 axis, 3 two way switchs, use weak pots: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showpos...16&postcount=3 Goflight, PFC have ones, but more expensives. http://flypfc.com/?/products/multi-engine/ http://secure.simmarket.com/goflight...quadrant.phtml Sokol1 |
I use the CH Quadrant.
Sure is easier than clicking the cockpit "levers". |
Thanks guys. I use CH rudder pedals that have lasted going on 6 years now so this throttle quadrant looks cool. More switches is a plus.
Right now I use a few rotories on my x52 throttle but I'd like to use those for trim. |

I have the CH and realy like it, you will be glad to have the extra levers for bombers too:)

I know! I love to fly bombers and twin engine planes!
Curious to what you guys have your throttle quadrants set for? Throttle (obviously), oil rads, prop pitch, even flaps? I'm sure you guys come up with some awesome stuff can't wait. I'll probably pick one up come tax return time. |
I have the CH Quadrant which works really well. I use it for mixture, radiator, elevator and rudder trim (with 2 unused axis for now). I use the Warthog split throttle for throttle and prop pitch (I fly Spits and Hurries).
When I do start to fly bombers I'll be rethinking the levers for multi engine control. |
What would be cool is if IL2 had a feature to map controls for individual planes. So if flying a 4 engine bomber I could load my profile for it, and then load my single engine profile, then my twin engine fighter profile, all on the fly in the sim. That would be awesome.
I'm really excited now to get this thing. How do you guys mount them to your desks? I have an Obutto gaming cockpit so I don't have any desk space really. I was looking into a RAM mount possibly. |
