Oleg & Ilya - Interview BOB / SoW / ClOD

Interesting to listen and watch the old interviews of at the time BOB or Storm of War.. You can see in some point how smooth the sim run even with big clouds and with an older system..
It's just great to see some good old interviews if you have any post it :)

LOL! Ilya doesn't look like your "typical" game developer in that first clip. Some times less gold is more gold. ;)

Oleg has a pretty good English ! compare to in the past at the start of Il2

OK this thread doesn't have to go south and end badly, so play nice.

I was actually there at the show when Mysticpuma filmed that, and 'flew' that build of 'Storm of War' as it was then. I certainly don't remember it being smooth, and it was very basic, I think Oleg called it a pre alpha build.
The big news for me then was the upcoming release of il2 '46, and I spent hours flying the Arado jet around on one of the computers.
Oleg and Ilya were really nice friendly guys, and were happy to talk, although Ilya had to do a lot of translation, and Oleg seemed happiest when flying on one of the computers.

- What kind of new improvements will be done about the AI in BOB ?
DS: AI is more proficient in interacting with other units and acting in large groups. It employs varying tactics in both attacking and defending, and looks more personalized as AI skills may vary from unit to unit.
OM: I would say it is simply way more complex AI than in IL-2. If with the release of original Il-2 users were impressed with the most “humanized” AI behavior on the market… Then with BoB you will be more than impressed in comparison to any flight sim.
nope, defenetly we were not promissed a proper AI.

- Will the interaction between players and AI be improved ?
OM: Yes.
LOL

True ! :) It would be good to find some interview with the first IL2 .. It's fantastic to see the development of the sim/ hardware used and also the people working for the sim.

I did spoke to Oleg in the past on writing only at the time but in the video he is doing pretty good.
