Radar contacts, local announcements?

I've been an offline player for some time but have recently started moving online, primarily ATAG which is great but unfortunately high ping from Australia.

Can the radar defence announcements (i.e. 5 planes spotted at M12 bearing 270) be modified to also give local results? We hear about planes leaving France but I don't think I've heard anything about the 110s strafing Hawkinge!

Have I just missed it or is this not implemented?

Thanks, I misunderstood. So is it an automatic report (not comms command) for players as well as AI? Such reports seem surprisingly rare.

Low ping is good. The lower, the better.

Ha ha, I don't know what mental aberration that was... And after I just spent the morning looking for a low latency ISP! Modified OP.

Yes, both players and AI generate the reports, on first contact, and then after a few minutes, or if they lose close contact (like they're leaving the area). Each flight will give 1 report to start, so if you want more reports, you have to introduce more flights. Also, I think previously reported contacts are ignored.

Thanks. Can anyone confirm that previously reported contacts are ignored? This would fit what seems to happen online (i.e. plane reported leaving France but ignored over bases). Seems a bit daft, though, and would surely be better if these were reported again. Might be hard to program I guess.
