Can my video card support it?

i have this video card
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT
i am posting this becuase i dont really know much about video cards, and i have read that the video cards support in this game is a mess

Support isn't a mess, it's just that the sim is very very graphically demanding.

Without knowing the rest of your system specifications it will be hard to judge if you can have a good play experience with CLOD, but your card will be in deep trouble trying to keep up even on the lowest of in game graphic settings. It's two generations old now after all.

Check back after the next patch.. Luither said awhile back that they are making changes to the graphics engine and that they expect a 50% increase in FPS.. Which sounds a little optimistic to me.. but I got my fingers crossed

Not much point sugar coating it, that GPU just isn't up to it. Playing a game on lower settings that looks great on higher settings is like eating toffees with the wrappers on.

Giuseppe, your card was a value card for desktop applications when it came out in 2008, especially if it is the 512 MB DDR2 version, clocked at 500 MHz. It was 80% slower than the 8800 GT, which I had and which didn't give decent performances with CloD.

Upgrade your PC and don't buy anything below 2 GB of video RAM.

cheers,
Insuber

Not sure if that will lower the GPU requirements enough,

Well if a 50% increase in FPS due to 3D 'code' changes does not do it nothing will for that card! ;)

force DX11? As in only support DX11? Not likly in that CoD is porgramed using the DX11 API which is capable of using lower feature levels on the fly, like DX9.1, 9.2, 9.3 or DX10, or DX10.1

Now insuber, thats not quite right.
Not to start an argument, but there are many of us with measly 1.5gb GTX580's that are running this game just fine, and dare I say better than most.

But yes, OP you should really look at an upgrade. I fly with a fellow who has a 9800gt, and it does very well at medium settings. Anything below that however and it seems to be a no-go.
