FMB Bugs List
Aa an avid mission builder, and after much frustration with the COD FMB, I've decided to start a dedicated FMB bug thread. It is my fervent hope that the game devs will view this thread & address the bugs as soon as is practicable.
Some reminders: (1) This thread is for FMB bugs only (not gameplay bugs). (2) No flaming/winging/griping etc, just report the bug. Last Updated: 1 Dec 2011 FMB BUGS 1. Stationary ballon objects Static ballons objects (not the winch balloons) can be placed on land & elevated to a maximum of 2000 using the Z-offset, but when ballons are attached to ship using the /tow00_00 0_Static command line in the mission file; they attach to the ship OK, but always appear at ship deck height (not elevated). ie. The Z-offset appears not to work with the /tow command line. 2. Missing 'unselect all' objects command After copy-pasting a group of objects, there is no menu command (right-click) to unselect all the objects. 3. Unable to select a same (blank) map once mission is selected You're unable to select the same (blank) map if you have already opened a mission on the same map. 4. scroll down/ pull down menu in the object browser always starts at the top again and doesn´t keep the position after closing. 5. the zoom steps in the view are too big by default 6. User created spawn points at an airfield don't zoom with the map. If you zoom in enough, the it your usr-created spawn points are all over the place (and definitely not where you put them). 7. Balloons on timers only work as long as all balloons have not been destroyed. If I shoot down a balloon at 8:30, then my unharmed balloons set to deploy at 10:00 don't deploy. Airfields a. Middle Wallop airfield missing. Should be between Andover & Salisbury around town of Over Wallop. |

Hi,
I'm returning to mission building. I used to do quite a bit in il-2 1946 and dabbled when CloD first appeared but now I'm finding I can't get certain things to work.... :( Cannot get Do-17's (only bomber I've tried so far) to level bomb a building, or a a vehicle. After setting area bomb the bombs fall well short of where that waypoint icon is placed. Fighters told to Escort or Cover won't engage enemy fighters. planes often don't get to their waypoints on time, I've checked the speed between waypoints is acheivable. |

1. Seems ok for me 2. Move waypoint to desired location after observing the "actual" drop point 3. Add extra "waypoint" free hunt or "set waypoint" attack fighters along the ac escort wp route. 4. Unload some fuel, the AI don't need as much as humans, I make sure the climb/distance ratio to next way-points realistic enough otherwise they tend to wander off the correct route early on. At the moment discovering what's a feature or a bug in the FMB is annoying and time consuming. |
Don't know if it's a bug -
But on most user made campaigns available..when you restart the game it does not save where you got to in a campaign so you have to start all over again.. Perhaps you have to use scripts or code to do this? But perhaps like in IL2 it should be made default in the FMB that the game saves the last mission you completed in a campaign unless a script says otherwise..? I'm not currently building any campaigns because I do not know how to do this.. . |
Go to
..\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign there are subdirectories like "campaign_Erpr.Gr.210" etc. in these subdirectories you will find a file called state.ini open it with a editor and change the Number after battleIndex battleIndex 0 0 is the first mission 1 the second 2 the third so you don't need to start from the beginning again. |
OMG !
Well done FG28_Kodiak ... this is HUGE ! I've been trying to figure this out for 6 months !!! and I was the person who discovered that skins had to go into C:\Users\Simon's PC\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover... and not the STEAM folder...why didn't I think to look at this for the campaigns!! He He Will post this on another thread as well just so every mission builder knows.. So, just to confirm how to make COD save your campaign so you can restart where you left off. 1. Copy the contents of your STEAM campaign folder ( C:\Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\bob\mission\campaign ) to C:\Users\Simon's PC\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign 2. search for the file called state.ini 3. copy the state.ini file into every campaign folder at C:\Users\Simon's PC\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign Simple as that !! I can now start mission building again !! Whooopeee ! Simon |

Bugs in the FMB?
Where do I start? Where do I end? I don´t know, but for starters some of the annoying one are the small and simple ones, like that you have to scroll down/ pull down menu in the object browser always starts at the top again and doesn´t keep the position after closing, the zoom steps in the view are too big by default etc etc |
