Minimum Specs, this can't be correct??
Sorry guys, it's poor designing if I'm not even able to get off the ground with this system 'online' using low res. Flew online a few months ago no problems, so we all know it can be done if they want to support it.
GA-P67A-UD3-B3 MB i5-2500 3.3G 6MB cache LGA1155 95W CPU 4G DDR3 RAM Nvidia GTX 260 driver version 275.33 CH Fighterstick Perils Pedals Win 7 Home Premium 32 bit OS That cant be good for business to set minimum so high, my system is no slouch but I'm told I need minimum 64bit, 8 gig ram and GTX580 or the server dumps me because systems too slow? Perhaps there is a bug?? Is this really the way it's intended to be? |
Your rig would do very with the original IL2.
One of the things they went to COD for was to push the boundaries. It would be very hard to do that and maintain acceptable frame rate on less powerful systems. Even high end rigs are having a hard time with COD. Cheers! |
Why are you using 32bit windows?
Other than that the GFX card is about all that is letting you down to be fair. |
Your rig is fine! Dont worry! The game needs tweakening!
I used a similare rig to yours Intel I5-760 running at stock 2.8Ghz with Win 7 32 bit and 4gigs of DDR ram and GTX 280 card.. Now, I upgraded to win7 64 bit and the game runs alot better only after that update (due to the access of the extra gig of ram 64 bit allows you) I then proceeded to overclock the I5-760 from stock 2.8Ghz to 4Ghz (obviously buying a really good CPU cooler as well) Now the game runs really really well! And this is with a GTX280. I believe that if the promised 50% increase comes with the new patch and if I later on get a GTX 590 i will have a rig that runs the game perfectly fine!! But face it, you have a good CPU but you need to update to win7 64 bits to access more than 3 gigs of ram no matter have much have installed! and a GTX260 is on the lower end for this game! ;) |
I play it on the rig in my sig. The thing letting you down is the ram and card.Seems a waste to run an i5 like that.

I'll install 64bit windows in a few weeks time, I have a copy here gathering dust. My concern is with 64bit drivers to the other hardware I run.
I've got a spare system that I can leave as 32bit for the time being until the 64bit install is proven. |
You do realize you can actually have more than one operating system on the same pc? Like say one 32 bit another 64?
|
What old hardware are you running that doesn't have 64bit drivers?

Nice one Peril, yeah as discussed moving to 64bit Win7, a couple of extra gigs of RAM and it'll make all the difference. I wouldnt worry about older hardware, I think pretty much everything runs well now on 64bit, even 32 bit only apps seem to do fine on mine. As mentioned above if its a real problem, no worries just seperate off a partition and run a copy of 32 bit windows as well, though i really doubt you'll need to do this. |
