graphics card

Hi all
im shortly going to upgrade to a new graphics card mainly for clod, nvidia 580gtx 1.5gig or the 3 gig version, since i only use a 19 inch lcd monitor with a native res of 1440x900 would i best be going for the 1.5gig version as i have been told the 3gig version would only be of benifit if i had a larger monitor?
many thx

I run the 1.5gig version at 1920x1080 and its flawless. Great frame rates with everything on high and original textures.

Get a monitor! ;)

I'm currently on a 1600 x 1200, I have been since AD2000 (CRT first, then Samsung SyncMaster 204b), and I won't go down on either dimension.

Granted, 2560 x 1600 is way too expensive, and 1980 x1200 is a bit of a rip-off, what can we do except wait for something in-between.

That monitor is fine for gaming if you never read any text, don't read these forums, ... oops.

It is your choice, but please consider whether that monitor is what you need.

Be very aware, just in case you aren't, that monitor size is in pixels rather than inches, if a monitor is bigger in inches but not pixels, there's not much difference.

what's the price difference that you get between 1.5GB and 3GB? i've seen about 80€ margin here in euroland, 1.5GB plus it's not something to be scoffed but not sure if's worth the difference...
