Snap Aiming Question

In the following video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYVtbvtQoEw

This gent can quickly snap in and out of his aiming view.

What is the control setting for this?

The only one I found is Control Option: ==> Category: View ==> Event: Lean to Gunsight.

While this does the job it is a slow pull to and away the gunsight and still allows my trackIR to muck up my aiming sending the reticle everywhere, while on this vid the gent has a very steady aim on the target.

Thank you for any input.

Use FOV keys:

Delete = FOV 30 degrees
End = FOV 70 degrees
Page down = FOV 90 degrees

With JoyToKey program is possible ZOOM between 95~100 degrees an some negative value (useless).

Also try Shift F1 lean to gunsight. Very useful on offset sight like 109

The TrackIR is problematic with fine aiming. Even when you hold your head absolutely still there is some drift which causes your "virtual head" to lose precise alignment with the reflector sight. Usually at the worst possible moment, too, just as you're about to fire.

The fellow in the video was clearly not using TrackIR, but skillfully using the pan views to acquire and track his target. What I've found helpful with TrackIR is assigning two buttons on my joystick just for fine aiming: one key to recenter TrackIR, the second to "pause" it (ie. toggle it "off", pressing this button again toggles TrackIR back "on").

Since I no longer use the hatswitch on my joystick for snapviews, I've reprogrammed it for the different POV's. It sounds cumbersome, but I've found I don't even have to think about it anymore when following a prospective victim. I zoom in, centre and lock TrackIR, fire my guns, zoom out, unlock TRACKIR, and watch my victim crash & burn. :)

Snapper what do you do about the 109 sight? Do you move your head to the right then turn off trackir?

Or is there a way I can adjust and resave the default cockpit center position?

Regret can't help you there, mate. RAF here - I just shoot 109's down. (Well, I TRY to shoot 'em down......LOL).

I'm sure some experten 109 jockeys can assist here.

Well I've only been playing it a week but if it's anything as addictive as ROF I'll fly every single plane both sides.

ROF had a thing where you could move your center viewpoint, lots of planes had off-center sights and we just adjust our seat position and it stays even with Trackir.

In CloD though I turn off trackir, hit F10, use the mouse with the right button held down and move my seat position to behind the gunsight just fine.

BUT, (difference between ROF and CloD), when I turn trackir back on it just overrides that center position I setup.

It's like you can only move your seat position if you do not have trackir..

Just took me a while to get this tuned: i have a TrakckIR, and use Joy2Key to have the following functions mapped to a Joystick-button: "pauseTrackIR"+"Centerview(both from TrackIRsoftware)+ "Lean To Gunsight" (from Game).
This was done specifically with the 109 in mind, and works on the Spit and Hurri too (although not necessary).
What i does is the following: In "normal" flying mode, i use trackIR and when it comes to firing/attacking, i hit the assigned button, which zooms in and pauses the TrackIR. After firing, i hit the button again and go back to "NORMAL" tracking. I also use the POV hats to change the FOV, helps in both modes..

Hope i was clear enough, otherwise tell me.
