upgrade from gtx285/1gb v-ram to gtx 560 2gb v-ram
Hi Mates!
Does anyone have experience in upgrading from a gtx 285 with 1 gb v-ram to a gtx 560 with 2 gb v-ram! After reading the thread in this forum,i am more or less convinced, that a newer card will do the job much better than my actual older one, especially with the 1gb more video ram! Is it worth or not, that`s the question...??? Thanks for your replies, Rince! |
There is a full video from TUCKIE who changed his GTX285 to a GTX580 and needless to say it was an amazing performance inmprovement.
I do not think there something comparing the cards you mentionned. But you should try to find out what the difference in Dix10 performance between the GTX285 and the GTX560 is. I presume it will be significant and this will give you a good hint on whether it is worthwhile or not. In terms of VRAM, your new card will have 2Gb and this will make a huge improvement in performance compared to your GTX285. ~S~ PS1. It goes without saying that you are using Win7-64bit right? Otherwise your 2Gb VRAM will drasticaly limit your RAM to 2GB avalable if you are using a 32bit system. PS2. What kind of avatar is this! I would be expecting a windsurfing or a kitesurfing one if you live in this place you lucky bugger.... |
Hi and thx for your reply. I think I`ll wait a little bit more just for the gtx 570 with 2 gb v-ram! Depending on what is coming first: Money or christmas!^^
AT least when i go to "big" with the grafic, the discrepance to the cpu is too big! Yes I`m have win 7 64bit running! The next step is a new MoBo for overclocking the cpu! But this is depending of the status of the game, future shows... Greets, Rince! P.S. My avatar ist THE DUKE Kahanamoku-Lifeguard, Surfer and Beachboy from Hawaii and no-I`m not living there "my" island doesn`t have half of the vegetation of hawaii! (not even 1/8!!!:D) But for surfing the best in europe! |
