For Trackir users...

Turn off (untick in tir software) X and Y axis. You will thank me :-))

No, no I wont, I just spent a load of money for tir5 and 6dof is awesome :)

I toggle between 4 DOF and 6DOF (disable/enable X - Y) , depending on the situation but particularly in combat. With Freetrack you can do this by assigning a key to the hat switch and it's an advantage to be able to switch between 4 and 6 dof.

Unfortunately, TrackIR doesn't have this feature. I suggested on the Natural point forum that they include this at some point but they said no! NP maintained that users would not want this feature........

I sold my TrackIR Ultra - give me FT anyday with its assignable axis (all six are assignable along with centre and pause!

how is your aiming in sharp turns?

I'm with Tvrdi on this aspect. Its rather like having the shoulder straps on but still being able to check your six. If I couldn't switch between 4 and 6 DOF I would probably disable the X Y axis too. I also find it far better gunnery wise!

Try mapping a key to View -> Lean to Gunsight.

This works for me

for what? for cutting bottom and rear views? now you can open canopy and move your head right or left when you checking your six. if you turn off X and Y, the only thing you will see in hurricane is an armoured back.

Try to reduce sensitivity or make huge dead zones at this axes instead of turning they off.

Yes I tried. I will try harder as Im ending up with views jumping all over the place and then I must recenter tir view like madman...btw sometimes few secs you need to open canopy adn to lean back - you dont have :-)

I have better look with closed canopy too. And of course there are two states of flight. A cruise and a fight. When I am cruising I always do it with opened canopy. To be honest I frequently fight the same way, because speed not affected by it. When glasses were muddy it gave additional chance to recognize the enemy. Now glass is clear, but a habit is second nature.

So, if you 'recentering tir like madman' I think you don't have troubles with trackir, but with your restlessness :-P

I can give you my own profile, if you want.
