Suggesting about how you change the VIEWs in game

Im not saying this should be #1 top priority or anything. Just getting it out there if no one has said anything about this before.

For people using track IR this probably isnt an issue for them also

I would like the view positions to be able to REMEMBER where they left off.
For Example:

When in cockpit view and if you move your view around with the mouse positioning your self how you want then if you hit the Gunsight view button to zoom in a bit in your gun sights and then hit it again to go back to your view it currently goes back to the center default position. Really annoying. This also happens when changing to any other view like the external views and what not.

An option in the game to be able to remember your view positions would be an awesome little feature down the road one day.

Let me know if anyone doesnt quite understand what im saying and ill try to explain it better

P.S
Love the game so much and the team that makes it. Thanks

Totally agree with you on this, but with all the other crap they gotta fix..unlikely to happen soon:(

Sorak, I recommend you give freetrack a try (www.free-track.net/english/)
I'm using it with a ps3 eye cam (got it used for $24) and works great.

I promise that once you get used to head tracking you will never go back!

If you don't want to modify a webcam or build a led array, you could also try facetracknior (http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm) although I'm not still convinced about it.

Interesting SW, I had a look at their website.

I am not sure I understood that sentense in the FAQ:
Q: Can I use my TrackIR camera with FreeTrack?
A: disable on FreeTrack 2.2.0.278 and newver.

So, is it working with TRACKIR hardware or not?

In older freetrack software you could use TrackIR hardware, in the newer you can't because was removed on Naturalpoint request . You need to build your 3 led points (for a 6DOF) and have a webcam.

I thought so, what a bunch of §"$§$§$&&#* !!!

From your signature I see that your are using Win7 so I deduct that FreeTrack is working with Win7 (because in the forum I saw postings from people who did not manage to make it work with Win7-64...)

It´s working fine for me on Windows 7.

If you want to try it, read the feedbacks they gave about the cameras. It´s worth to spend 10-20 $ more for a camera that works well with the game/Software.

In my case i bought one(Hercules Classic Silver) whose driver always switched the settings to default when changing to the game. Very annoying but i finally solved it.

@conio. I fly with head tracking since a few days now and have to figure out the settings. It still feels a bit strange. Will i get used to it? How long will it take?

yes, as Continu0 said it works very well on Windows7 x64, need just to have directx9 updated and you are fine. The devs are working on a new version, hope to see it soon :)

To be fair with natural point, apparentely free track does use some of natural points coding unauthorized.

i did a freetrack to, but it didnt turn out well, i have a track ir, and its jsut plain awsome, i was amazed how it worked straight out of the box.

still, good luck on your free track, if it goes out nice, you will spare 100 bucks.

no unauthorized code is used, was only added the possibility to use TrackIR hardware with freetrack, NP didn't liked it so it was removed. The code is not a Naturalpoint patent, how can you patent a math calc? Better not start again this discussion Freetrack VS TrackIR because will not go anywhere. :)
