Manually loaded Beta patch vs automated Steam uppdate

Gentlemen!
If I patch up my CoD with the lates beta patch (v1.03.15527) will Steam still be able to keep my game updated (i.e. overwrite the beta files) in the future?

Yes it will, but you may want to use the forum search. For example this one:

Thx Miller!
I didn't know that JSGME worked for IL-2 CoD as well.
I already have one installed for Il-2 1946.
I'll search and see how to install another for CoD.

?

You cant use JSGME here mate..

Just copy the BETA files and overwrite into your root Directory C:/Steam>etc>CoD

and when the new official Patch is released Steam will update automatically if you have Steam updates set to AUTO

Quote:

1.) Download JSGME
2.) Install it into your game folder
3.) Create a folder called MODS in your game folder
4.) In this MODS folder create another folder called IL2COD_15527 or however you want to call it
5.) Extract the patch files into this folder
6.) The folder should now contain the following:

09062011 Beta Readme.txt
Launcher.exe.config
parts
PaintSchemes

6.) Run JSGME (you'll find it in your game folder)
7.) Select your created folder from the left list and click the upper arrow in the middle pointing to the right
8.) Watch the bar in the lower right corner progress
9.) When it finished close JSGME and run the game

If you want to disable it again simply do the following:

1.) Run JSGME
2.) Select the patch folder from the right list
3.) Click the middle arrow pointing to the left
4.) Watch the bar progress
5.) When it finished close JSGME and run the game
How often do I have to write this again?

As many times as you like

Just copy into Game Dir? a whole lot easier :-)

Yeah but I prefer the JSGME method as some beta patches cause trouble with my game and I can simply disable them again this way :-P

Steam doesn't work that way anyways. You can simply make a copy of the game folder manually if it's just for this one beta patch. It's not that the game is really "installed" somewhere. You can move steam around freely.

Yep but I don't want to waste my disk space. :-P I'm already pretty low on that.
