Steam code

Hi everyone!
Is it normal that every time I enter the multiplayer room the game asks for the game code?
I have the boxed version of the game an I have activated it on steam... so now I only play with the Steam version!
Anyone else here has the same issue?

The issue could be happening if you don't have administration rights in your Windows when entering the cd-key. In this case the game can't store the cd-key in the registry.
