The P.108 was delivered to a single unit, the 274a Squadriglia (274th Squadron) in 1941.[2] But there were several accidents, one of them involving the son of Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. On 7 August 1941, Bruno Mussolini, commander of the 274a Squadriglia, was piloting one of the prototypes of the "secret" bomber. He flew too low and crashed into a house.[5] The cockpit section separated from the rest of the aircraft and although the aircraft did not catch fire, it was nevertheless totally destroyed in the impact. Mussolini died of his injuries.
The incident Bruno Mussolini in my strange thoughts, you suddenly 'sabotage and not a mere accident. However, this and another story to investigate and search.

One of the most interesting features of this aircraft in my humble opinion was its defensive weaponry. Among ordinary fuselage gun turrets it also sported two wing mounted (atop outer engine nacelles), remotely controlled turrets, each equipped with two heavy machineguns. Such a setup provided an aircraft with formidable backward directed firepower and a large, unobstructed field of fire. Biggest drawback was unability of the crew to un-jam guns.

yes gun turret is distance control.

Not sure, but might very well be.

Anyway, the 102mm cannon was the largest calibre gun actually fired from a flying aircraft in WW2.
