Learning curve
Somewhere I read that this game has a steep learning curve but I disagree it's not just a curve but a circular pattern loaded with u-turns.
Where is the manual for flight controls? How many keyboards or extra buttons are needed to properly fly the planes in this game? The game looks great although I don't think that I have what it takes to learn this game. |
Just take small steps a time. Don't try to program all keys at once but only for the functions you need. Add keys as you go deeper into the sim. I did it the same way and it worked for me.

i just can agree.i did it the same way with il2 1946.
i think i flew one month without trimming.and about two month before i considered to focus on the prop pitch. |
If you are new to flight sims this might be like jumping in the deep end of the pool.
There is a lot of information, enough to cause an overload. At a minimum, to play this game properly, you need: 1) a keyboard and mouse 2) a joystick with a twist-axis for rudders Other things like TrackIR and rudder pedals and a separate throttle quadrant are nice but not necessary. Start on the easy difficulty settings and just practice shooting, and tracking other aircraft with your views. Stick with an easy aircraft until you become intimately familiar with it, then you can start branching out and increasing the difficulty. |
A steep learning curve implies that you will learn quickly. A flat learning curve means you aren't learning at all. CoD has what I would call a shallow learning curve.

You have ease into it like you would if it was a hot bath. By the way I started DCS Warthog today and I don't know what the hell I'm doing but it sure looks good.

There is a PDF manual in your main Clod directory.
