Here's a picture taken last night at sunset with the camera in "Bestshot : Sunset" mode (emphasizes the orange in the sky to make a more "interesting" look)

I think the first one looks like what we had before that "lighting changes" patch, and the second one looks more like what we have ingame now. Ergo, I find the ingame sunset MORE realistic than the bright orange one.





HOWEVER:

The sunset with colours vary a LOT depending on weather conditions, atmosphere etc and what time during what time of year you are looking at it, so....

My conclusion: One can only wait until the weather model has been completed and see if this impacts the way sunsets look :)

yes but my suggestion:

instead of alays orange, booooooooring

throguh a random color out of 32 million on the background :)

voila half of the atmospheric conditions have been rendered
