Ultra Pack 2.0 - Real Noob Question
 

Hi, I can't believe I've actually had to ask such a stupid question. :o

Been trying to install UP 2.01 (have already patched up to 10.0.1), but can't due to the fact I need UP v2.0 installed first...the only problem is I can't find version 2.0 anywhere.

Have tried the following link (plus many more) to no avail:

Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated, as I really want to use the new maps.

Also - does anyone know of any decent HD maps for IL2 1946?

P.S. I've been playing this sim since it's first dempo release and played every addon etc...I'm not a noob, only my question is :)

You were at the right place, your problem was (is? ;-)) impatience: Just scroll further down to where it says:

"UP 2.01 Full Download is available for Torrent:"

There's a torrent and several mirrors to download the full 2.01 version (in nine parts)...

What is improved or different with UP3 vs UP2?

It doesnt matter.. now that it is out in a week or two everyone will be either flying UP3.0 or HSFX 5.01.. The thing is that UP 3.0 is going to be compatible with IL2 4.10.1 as opposed to 4.09 like UP 2.0. Team Diadalos will always dictate to some extent where the mods go as long as they are making official patches..

They're still updating the actual updates/changes, but there are:
- loads of flyable aircraft that were previously AI only
- loads of altogether new aircraft (inc new Korean era jets)
- updated models and skins for 109s, spits etc
- Introduced helicopters
- new tanks
- new ships/subs
- new vehicles
- new sounds
- new weapons system ???
