anyone been able to complete these on realistic difficulty? seems really hard with limited ammo in the first one if you dont fly fast enough the tanks already get to the train and if you miss any rockets youve run out of tank piercing weapons in the second one you must destroy 20 tanks with 8 rockets, 2 fired at a time so you get 4 shots

Sorry I don't have time to examine and test these missions right now, but I suspect they are broken in some way.

Some old missions were winnable in the game version they were designed for, but are unwinnable in later versions, and the Daidalos Team is not interested in updating them.

For example, the U-2 "Attack on Ryuhovskoe" mission is generally unwinnable in the current version because the AI aircraft do not hit enough targets to give the player a chance to achieve mission success. However, I think I remember the player having a small chance of success in an earlier version when the AI aircraft performed differently.

We just have to accept that some old missions are broken, while others age like fine wine!

If you want to be sure that you have missions matching your game version the best way is to download 3rd party missions from Mission4Today.com, or learn to fix the missions yourself. :cool:

oh i don't think these missions are broken i think they're just naturally difficult was wondering from a gameplay perspective

You mentioned flying fast enough to stop tanks from getting to the train. Try to find a balance between speed and accuracy, flying low and fast Block Blast but adjusting your position to line up a good shot on tanks.

i was trying out the original 1.0 IL2 i have on disc and there are indeed changes, in IL2-N4 the mission happens during the light at night but in the up to date version the mission takes place during a pitch black night.

i didnt expect the game to work straight out of the case on windows 10
