A comeback after a long break

Hi everyone, I've been thinking recently to come back to flying after a very long break (I stopped because my stick broke), but unfortunately I don't have a stick. What do you think, is it worth returning with just the keyboard? Because, to be honest, I'm a bit afraid to do so. Do you think I should come back to flying or rather wait first for an opportunity to get a decent joystick?

Buy a microsoft Precision2 off ebay for a few dollars. It is as good a stick as any ever made.

Stay away from Mods, Steam and fly realistic settings.

Yeah go for it. Grab a stick and get back out there. There's a ton of new content and some great new features for advanced and regular players alike. Even just with the stock unmodded game there's a ton of new stuff thanks to Team Daidalos. New patch (4.13) is incoming with more new stuff once again.

I use a Microsoft sidewinder 2 stick myself . Got it off craigslist and it's waaay better than the Logitech ff . I could NEVER play any sim with just a keyboard and mouse . That's arcade tactics .

It is recommended to fly with a joystick.

For what it's worth, Rise of Flight just had an update that incorporates mouse control as a virtual joystick. It's a free download for the basic game, which incldes two flyables and all other aircraft present as AI allies and opponents. If a bit of WW1 aviation will scratch your itch then it might be worth grabbing that as well. ;)
