Reinstalled IL2 21946 - Dreadful FPS!

Can anyone help please? I've recently reinstalled il2 1946 on a computer that it previously ran on. It used to run well but now , this tiem around even with game booster I'm lucky if I ever reach 25FPS. Its awful!

I've checked that I have the correct drivers (I have) and I have defraged but to no effect at all.Loads of space on the drive left too.

I'm tearing my hair out here! Also the computer runs sluggishly generally if that is any clue at all.

Can someone tell me pleae how to do the diag test so I can post the findings here. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated in helping novercome this.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

Looks like you have a slow PC not a slow IL2 1946 installation.

Check the CPU is sufficiently cooled and the ram is tested for faults and the hard drive tested for errors.

Run a test on this site http://www.pcpitstop.com/pcpitstop/

PC Pit stop works best with Internet explorer.

This is probably a key indicator. If you're system is having other performance issues it's of course going to affect games that require much more from it.

There's probably a multitude of things to look at. Drivers, spyware/viruses/hijacks, low hard drive space, insufficient cooling, etc. Not an easy thing to diagnose without a lot more information.

Thanks for that suggestion but spent the best of 4 hours trying to get Pit stop to run all the tests correctly. Bit of a nightmare. Going tom put that one to one side for a while!

Just run a test on a problem laptop took 5 mins to test found a hard drive problem and a memory error.

4 hours indicates a problem for sure :)

There's a free product called CCleaner (Crap Cleaner) that can really help.
